Saint-Chapelle’s miracle of light, Paris.

Hello There! Namaste to all.

This blog/website began its life almost a decade ago. I stopped writing here in 2014 and have just restarted again, because the world has fallen into such darkness. The topics are the same, it’s about the light.  Besides the Sai Baba stories and articles, I have added  a broader range of material, prose, stories, bios,  from all cultures/ religions, also many spiritual poems. The idea here is not to champion one Way over another, but to “Keep the Light” – ie to seek out the Light in whatever tradition or culture (or just in individuals) and enhance it….  aawhiteed

A little about me. I’ve studied comparative religion, spent long gruelling spells in India, where book learning was put on the back burner, while  the “real experiences” of letting go was beginning to take birth in my young soul.   The teacher in India always said:  “When the road ends and the goal is gained, the pilgrim finds that he has traveled only from himself to himself, that the way was long and lonesome, but the God that led him unto it was all the while in him, around him, with him, and beside him.” ~  He was so right.

Also  I must mention that I write on line, then correct! You may notice changes through the work as it is created.

blessings from moi

    1. Decided to follow you after watching COSMOS with Neil D.Tyson. He had an episode in the series that mentioned dogs as being artificially selected. Of course I knew it but felt it was time to learn more about dogs. I am not really a dog person, I am a cat person, also artificially selected to be cuddly and sweet. thanks Eve 🙂

  1. I had a feeling that I should check out your blog and I was definitely right. I have spent time in India almost every year since January 1990. I am a devotee of Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi and have a major focus on nature, in my life and on my blog! And I also share lots of stories from my journey with Amma. I look forward to reading your stories and getting to know you better.

You have a beautiful website/blog. Lots of Love. I can feel it 🙂

I was actually curious if you knew the source/name of the Islamic art from this part of your blog:

Sacred Geometry cont. – Sacred Geometry

It’s the 3 image that you have. I am actually considering using it for a collection of my poems that are largely influenced by Rumi and Hafiz.

Thank you so much and God bless!

    1. Hello belasbrightideas: Nice title! 🙂 Thanks for your comment on my blog. This blog is just an inspirational collection of my favourite stories and quotes. It was never meant to be about me. It is not a personal blog. It’s been a favourite hobby now for some years, but sickness in my family made me lose my confidence to blog on. I do though, hope to post photos and quotes several times a month to keep the blog going. At the moment my writing is not good enough to get back to where I was before. it is people like yourself, offering kindness as you have, that makes one not want to give up. Thank you so much. Eve with blessing.

        1. thanks. It took ages to learn to blog – I have to admit to that. You can have a W.P. audience and that is really nice, but the test of a blog is how it does in google etc. I suppose. blogging is a lot of work and one must like to research a lot. I do so it is a good hobby for me. eve

          1. Everything depends on what is your goal. If you would like to build your community and share your thoughts an ideas then it is not necessary to learn about SEO. Google will do it for you automatically with so called green way. But if you would like to build kind of commercial or business community you have to learn and possibly hire professionals to promote your blog or website to the internet audience and potential clients or consumers.

          2. yes i agree with that. I don’t have a goal. I began the blog 4 years ago, when w.p. was only just beginning to expand. In those day, there were no likes, no reader nothing. We relied on search engines to be known by. Google is not easy nowadays though, the ranking is pretty tough.. You need to produce original content and photos. I don’t always do that but I try. I don’t know what SEO is… btw google changed last year and most blogs of an inspirational nature got put in their spam ranking. no kidding.. eve

          3. SEO is a complicated set of rules. But the worse thing is Google changing all this rules constantly. As soon as you found the way to get the first page Google change that rules and you have again to work hard to get your place. The endless process. This is why I am writing whenever I have time and something new to say or to show. It is only my way here.

I’d never heard any of that information before and it was inspiring to read. And a treat to see such a young Eric Clapton. I came to appreciate him through my husband who’s a few years older than me. Seeing him in action then and knowing what he was to become as a musical force and talent was like watching history catch up on itself. A lovely post altogether.x

It’s a pretty big awe inspiring place. Mimar Sinan, a member of Suleiman the Magnificent’s Janissary body guard was the Architect–and considered it his masterpiece. It’s a compelling image. I have a few shots of the place myself.

We landed in Rome, went to Thessaloniki, intended to go straight to Edirne–found it such a hassle that we–went instead to Mace… I mean the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, then Bulgaria before reaching Edirne Those countries are really shooting themselves in the foot by not making the region more traveler friendly.

There are so many great places to go and people to meet.

In Bulgaria, in church after church we heard the most riveting choirs and singers. It was really astounding. First we went to a service in a small sparcely adorned Orthodox church and I thought we must have stumbled on a fluke–it was so good. Like in Chicago, Holy Family Catholic Church on Roosevelt, second oldest Catholic Church in the city, there is a choir that is worth attending sunday service for even if you aren’t Catholic. On Laramie, a couple of blocks south of the Green Line, from the street, I’ve heard some great live gospel choir. But in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in church after church, and though the congregations were at times scant, we heard some of the best music I’ve ever heard.

I see now we have “circles of friends.” I like that. 🙂 – I learn a lot from others’ blog post Before we used to rely only on search engines to bring traffic. Might say, with little feedback, due to the details required by WP from would be “commenters/followers. – I used to write mostly about Sathya Sai Baba, thus, I had an audience for the blog, but I have changed now to include ,well just about everything.. thank you again.. Merry Christmas too.. 🙂

As with all networking, you get what you put in and this is more of an exercise in sanity preservation than anything else lol
I do make an effort to explore diverse blogs so as to avoid getting “bubbled.” Have you considered linking a few other social networking sites like Tumblr or Pinterest?

I have relied on google and other search engines to bring traffic.. The problem with that is people may well like the posts, but are unwilling to join w.p. to follow.. (They are reluctant to give email addresses and other info.to w.p., when all they want to do, is “like” ) I don’t know what bubbled is.. tell me.. best eve..

In this context I would like to mention 3 persons who were disciples to Jesus, Sri Yukestwar, Ramankrishna in their previous lives.
During the interview, Sri Sathya Sai Baba has commented to some people about who they were in past lives.
Jesus disciple whom they called Peter the fisherman is now among us.
Ramakrishna disciple Vivekananda whom they called Naren is now in Sri lanka,
Sri Yukestwar disciple Paramahansa Yogananda is now in Germany.
Shirdi baba devotee called Abdullah, a muslim sufi (who recites Quran everyday during Shirdi time.
Some are prominently active in Sai baba circle and known to us by other names while others are linked to spiritual schools which will be surfacing during Prema Sai period. Thank you

This you do with proficiency and familiarity despite your name that tells that you are from a far away land to India but the soul being infinite draws you to the heart. This does wonders, like your writing and documentation. I always regretted that in India great Mahrishis are born but their lives never get documented. But in the case of Ramana and Sathya Sai current history reminds me all is well and everything is documented. I wish there is a National Heritage Museum where such details are kept for world wide public view.
Thanks, keep writing about great personages, it does nothing but good to the soul in its evolution

With all humility would request you to correct the post that you picked up from Sai Family in Facebook…. it was copied from the original letter by me, but I made a typing mistake….and it is being shared in the internet, without anyone realizing it…or probably no one is reading it properly.
A Revelation by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Baba …. “In the years to come, you will experience me in many different manifestations of my form” …. I typed it twice in the letter, by mistake. Its only there in the first line of the paragraph, not the last few lines…but by the time I made a correction, guess it was copied and pasted in several places.
Since its a hand written Revelation by HIM, every word being put across, as it was originally written, matters 🙂
    Thanks, Sairam 🙂

Lovely video. i love this song by George Harrison.
George Harrison had come to see Baba. i have seen
that video. Its there somewhere on youtube. Baba
had blessed him from a distance. John and Yoko Lenon
had also come to PN but for some reason Baba didnt
see them. Baba is supposed to be very critical. Whats up ??

i don’t know where you got this, but it is true and wonderful. It is a reflection of the culture. Thank you for posting it. i saw a similar article in Time i think. There is a concept in Japan called ‘Gaman’ it means ‘grace under pressure’. That is what they are displaying.

Hi Eve,your Sai video is so full of love, a beautiful piece, like the Daskalos reminder, on thought forms, how mindful we must be.You really cover a wonderfully broad spectrum in the multifaceted variations of the ‘spiritual’ aspect of humanity, i guess you cannot know the effect your blog has on all who come to see, lots of love karon

  49. Really very beautiful blog. The stories are very nice, you should think of compiling your love of photography and the stories in a book. I’m sure Baba would bless that :). You mentioned that you do not go to see him in India anymore but I would love to see him one day soon. I hear that he is not giving darshan is this true?? I would love to know as we are trying to go in the early part of next year (2011) and would love to see him and am feeling disappointed that he might stop giving darshan, please let me know if you get a chance. Thanks!
