Here is the second in the photography series, Say I am you.  I don’t know how many of you read Rumi, I find his poems irresistible and this one in particular.   Rumi’s poems elegantly and consistently touch our inner being and inspire us to go beyond our limitations towards the Divine.  He is expressing once more in this  poem how he is in everything, and everything is in him. He ends with these few words,  “Jelaluddin, You the one in all, say who I am. Say I am You.”

SAY I AM YOU

I am dust particles in sunlight.
I am the round sun.

To the bits of dust I say, Stay.
To the sun, Keep moving.

I am morning mist,
and the breathing of evening.

I am wind in the top of a grove,
and surf on the cliff.

Mast, rudder, helmsman, and keel,
I am also the coral reef they founder on.

I am a tree with a trained parrot in its branches.
Silence, thought, and voice.

The musical air coming through a flute,
a spark of a stone, a flickering

in metal. Both candle,
and the moth crazy around it.

Rose, and the nightingale
lost in the fragrance.

I am all orders of being, the circling galaxy,
the evolutionary intelligence, the lift,

and the falling away. What is,
and what isn’t. You who know

THE FACES I SO LOVE TO PHOTOGRAPH IN PUSHKAR – 2013

I look so much forward to this one week in Pushkar during the Camel Fair. Waking up early and leaving the hotel room before 7am so as to mingle with the colourful pilgrims arriving in town fills me with excitement and anticipation similar to the feelings when going out for an early morning safari drive in Africa. What will the photo session bring, what new, amazing images ? I think that being a woman photographer helps me a lot. The women open up to me and and, as I mingle with them, they, too, sense my excitement and give me their best smile and acceptance .. the men are happy to be photographed by a woman!! I NEVER give money for a photo as I believe that then the ‘natural’ look is gone and the money exchange destroys everything. Instead, I try to give out as many prints as I can…last time, I printed over 200 photos and distributed them to as many of my models as I could!!
Depy – Nov. 2013
Depy has kindly allowed me to post a few of her wonderful portrait photos from this year’s collection.. I have known Depy for many years, we are old Sai devotees from long ago. We share a common interest in photography and spiritual pursuits.

“I AM” – Inspirational Quotations

krishnapic

All that Krishna says of himself is true of us, or potentially true of us… We too are bound in time and space, but also ‘without beginning and without end’. We too have an ‘ordinary form’ and a ‘supreme form’, a concept spoken of by St Paul in terms of the ‘Body Terrestrial’ and the ‘Body Celestial’…

The beauty is when we dance with both, as Krishna does to the sublime music of his flute…

“It is only through silent awareness that our physical and mental nature can change. This change is completely spontaneous. If we make an effort to change we do no more than shift our attention from one level, from one thing, to another. We remain in a vicious circle. This only transfers energy from one point to another. It still leaves us oscillating between suffering and pleasure, each leading inevitably back to the other. Only living stillness, stillness without someone trying to be still, is capable of undoing the conditioning our biologoical, emotional and psychological nature has undergone. There is no controller, no selector, no personality making choices. In choiceless living the situation is given the freedom to unfold. You do not grasp one aspect over another for there is nobody to grasp. When you understand something and live it without being stuck to the formulation, what you have understood dissolves in your openness. In this silence change takes place of its own accord, the problem is resolved and duality ends. You are left in your glory where no one has understood and nothing has been understood.” ~ Jean Klein, “I Am”

The greatest romance is with the Infinite. You have no idea how beautiful life can be. When you suddenly find God everywhere, when He comes and talks to you and guides you, the romance of divine love has begun.
