Sat Chit Ananda

Defining the Moola Mantra with stunning visuals and the mesmerizing voice of Deva Premal.

You have come from God, you are a spark of His Glory; you are a wave on the Ocean of Bliss; you will have peace only when you again merge in Him. ~Sathya Sai Baba

I’ve been thinking about God recently.  I’ll  tell you what I think God is all about. The  Indian mystics all tell us, “A God defined is a God confined.” “What can’t be said, can’t be said and it can’t be sung about either.”  They also say, “God is impersonal.”  “I am without form, without limit, beyond time, beyond space. I am in everything. Everything is in me. I am the bliss of the universe. Everywhere I am. I am sat, chit, ananda, absolute existence, absolute knowledge, absolute wisdom.” ~  No messing about with their sacred ideas of God and what He is all about. They are straight as an arrow about it.

Jesus Christ says “He that is born of the flesh is flesh and he that is born of the spirit is spirit.”  Then he says, “Least ye be born again you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.” also Jesus says, “I and my father are one.”  then Jesus says this,  “He that loveth mother and father, child, more than me cannot follow me.” What exactly is He telling us?

He is simply telling us just how things are. He’s talking about higher consciousness; He’s telling us who we really are. He is telling us what it means when we start on the journey  to be born again, when we suddenly start to have faith in another possibility than the one we have now. Now what is that called, what is the other possibility? It’s just a vibrational rate. It’s like you’re born with a pre-fixed setting on your television set to channel eighteen and you never even knew there was a channel eighteen, channel four, three, two. So when someone comes along and says, “Were you tuned into channel seven last night?” You look at them with a wee smile, “Don’t they know there’s only  channel eighteen? Then something suddenly happens, something touches a place in your heart that’s been there all the time. It’s just like you have suddenly awakened for a moment from a long sleep and say, “Oh! Wow! So that’s how it is! I was asleep for a long time. But now you are awake and tuning in to channel eighteen and you like what you are seeing.

Just saying

Dreams Of Sai -Sathya Sai Memories

This beautiful dream story has been passed to me for publishing here.

The beginning of the dream:

“Somebody unknown to me rang  at 5 a.m.  on my cell phone. Normally this is the time for me to go gym but I did not feel like it.The first thing I felt was being upset with Swami, “Saying to myself, Swami why did you not come to my dream I was so much expecting to see you….” ! I then fell asleep again after 5 a.m…..then I saw Swami very young, beautiful….First I was on his right side, there were green flowers between us, huge masses of them. Many people stood there in front of us. Swami was  giving a speech, it seemed like the year was 1950’…something like that.

Later I was sitting on some  steps … waiting for him to come down from what appeared to be an auditorium hall…..Swami came from  the top of the stairs and stopped by my side.

He materialized what appeared to be large amounts  of Kumkum. He, at first, began to put the kumkum on my forehead, then continued and covered the whole centre of my head. It felt, to me, very like  I was at a wedding ceremony; when the husband places  Kumkum on his wife’s head..I felt so much love. I  felt he’d  married me again…

I held his hands with my namaskaram position…His hand felt so soft.  I could feel lots of love flowing through me..My eyes were closed and all I wanted to do is feel his love through me and wanted to freeze the moment . Keep it forever with me.  I just did not want to let it go but at the same time I felt many people were waiting for him. I needed to let him go. Swami said beautifully, “Your love to me is Like Radha’s love for Krishna!!” and smiled.

I cried many tears.  They tears were simply bursting from my eyes. I touched  both his feet and kissed them. Such a beautiful feeling…

My whole body,  from top to bottom, was covered with  Kumkum materialized by swami..People around me were telling me he’d poured too much but I felt elated!

Once I opened my eyes,  it was 7 a.m.  Ram was trying to wake me up..But I did not want to wake, I wanted to stay there with Swami.

The Story

Guru Poornima – 20th July 1997

DivineLord2993eve

This is an incident which took place in a Sai centre in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Sai Sadan celebrated the Guru Pournami festival in a grand manner in the evening of 20th July ‘97. In order to imbue the occasion with greater spiritual vibrations, the Sri Sathya Sai Sathyanarayana Vrata katha parayana, i.e., the reading of our beloved Lord Sai’s life story, was conducted, in addition to the normal bhajans. The “parayana” and bhajan went on, with more than the usual fervour by the devotees.

When nearing the conclusion of the bhajan (at about 8.50 p.m.) the Centre Chairman, Mr. Rai, looked around casually behind him at the congregation, in order to decide on who should have the privilege of taking the Mangala Aarathi on this auspicious occasion. He was gladdened to see Mr. Gul Gandhi sitting right at the back, in line with the aisle, leaning on the rear wall. Mr. Gandhi is easily recognizable, not only by his big frame, but also for his big heart and great humility, being an inspiration to many a Sai devotee in Muscat. Rai felt that he should take the Aarathi that day. However, within a few seconds he received a hand written note from his wife, requesting that she would like to have the honour. Mr. Rai then remembered that the next day was her birthday and he did not have the heart to refuse her this request. He mentally apologised to Swami and to Mr. Gandhi for having to change his mind and let the lady perform the Aarathi. Subsequently, before conclusion of the prayers he went to the kitchen to check on the Prasad, and again passed Mr. Gandhi sitting at the rear.

The prayers were concluded, devotees (who numbered about 80 when only about 35 – 40 were expected to attend) had their prasad (lovingly prepared and served by the Shakti Wing ladies) and dispersed by around 10.00 p.m.

Rai was about to retire for the night, when around 10.30 the doorbell rang and whom does he find but Mr. Gandhi at the doorstep, who wanted to know where the Guru Pournami festivities had taken place that evening! Rai swallowed his surprise and named the other center (about 15 k.m. away in Ruwi) where also the prayers were held, assuming Mr. Gandhi was asking for this information. Mr. Gandhi again asked him, “Where was it held in this area, was it in the Ghala center?”. Rai replied that it was very much here and invited him in. To further confound Rai, Mr. Gandhi then asked him if he could have vibhuti prasad. This, of course, puzzled Rai, since he had seen Mr. Gandhi at the prayer. He asked him to go ahead and take it from the altar whilst asking him whether he had not taken it earlier during the prayer. Rai was absolutely stunned when Mr. Gandhi apologized to him saying that he was on the evening shift at the airport and was unable to leave till around 9.45 pm, though he had made prior arrangements with a colleague in order to be able to leave early enough to attend the bhajan. He said he had reached home a few minutes earlier, but he felt (heard) Swami urging him to go to the bhajan centre (even though it was quite late) and partake the prasad there.

Meanwhile, Rai’s elderly mother, who does not follow English, had very kindly placed whatever prasad that was left in a plate and offered it to Mr. Gandhi who was reluctant to impose on them at that late hour. However, Rai convinced him that this prasad seemed to have been meant for him as nobody else would have it earlier. When Rai explained the details to Mr. Gandhi and even showed him the spot where he saw him sitting during the prayers, all that Mr. Gandhi could do after partaking the food, was to go straight to the altar and prostrate in front of Swami’s portrait. Meanwhile, Rai noticed that Mr. Gandhi was in his official clothes (Aviation Staff uniform) whereas he had seen him in white clothes earlier.

The next day in office, Rai was finding it hard to keep his mind on the job. He was convinced that he had seen Mr. Gandhi during the bhajans, but nobody else, including his wife, mother and other devotees he spoke to had seen him there. (This was also reconfirmed with at least 10 persons who had been present) While he was wracking his brains on this, his close friend and colleague Sanil, who had also been at the bhajan, dropped in. Rai asked him whether he had seen Mr. Gandhi at the prayer. To his astonishment and great relief, Sanil confirmed it, including the same spot where Rai had seen Mr. Gandhi sitting. He also added that he not only saw Mr. Gandhi but also spoke to him and shook his hands, before they left the prayer hall together. He did not remember seeing him after that instance.

Was it Mr. Gandhi or was it Lord Sai in his form who attended the prayers?

No one, who knows him, can ever doubt the integrity of Mr. Gandhi, or of Mr. Rai and Mr. Sanil. Furthermore, it was confirmed with the Duty Officer of Oman Aviation, Mr. Purushottam Rao, that Mr. Gandhi had indeed left his workplace that evening around 9.45 p.m.

It was none other than our Beloved Lord Sai, who blessed and graced the Sai center’s devotees with his Divine Presence, though invisible to all except the two blessed gentlemen and also in the form of another “blessed” devotee.

Why did he choose that form?

Nobody except Swami Himself can answer that question. We can only say, ‘it was one more of His leelas’.

In the Light of Love we are Home

Mother Earth – Home

Suddenly from behind the rim of the moon, in long, slow, motion moments of immense majesty, there emerges a sparkling blue and white jewel, a light delicate sky-blue sphere laced with slowly swirling veils of white, rising gradually like a small pearl in a thick sea of black mystery. It takes more than a moment to fully realise that this is Earth

astronaut Edgar Mitchell

It is related for example, of the sage Huen Sha that he was one day prepared to deliver a sermon to an assembled congregation, and was on the point of beginning, when a bird was heard to sing very sweetly close by; Huen Sha descended from his pulpit with the remark that the sermon had been preached. Another sage, Teu Tse, one day pointed to a stone lying near the temple gate, and remarked, “Therein lie all the buddhas of the past, the present, and the future.”

-A.K.Coomaraswamy

The search may begin with a restless feeling, as if one were being watched. One turns in all directions and sees nothing, yet one senses that there is a source for this deep restlessness; and the path that leads there is not a path to a strange place, but the path home. (“But you are home,” cries the Witch of the North. “All you need do is wake up!”)

-Peter Matthiessen

I never wanted too much out of life really. What I knew for certain, even as a small child, was that when I grew up I would have a garden. Somewhere to call home where I could grow flowers in. This dream of mine was a long time in the making. It was like reaching for a star, I could not quite grasp it. It was the same with a garden. Just when I’d given up all hope of owning a garden , then all of a sudden, I was given one. I’d waited so long that the preciousness of owning one, its value to me, is beyond measure.
