Spirit Walking – The Arboretum

Magnolia

Now it’s Spring, why not spend time in a flower garden or in a park?  An arboretum is a great place to be with trees and often provides a special sort of quiet.  In an arboretum you can take a spirit walk. That is to be at one with nature. There among the trees you can listen to the breeze moving through the branches and the grasses.  Birds too can be heard in the quiet of a tree-lined pathway. There’s no better sanctury for birds and butterflies than an arboretum.  A walk with nature is a healing thing.  Stay there as long as you wish, but make sure your visit is long enough to take in the various forms and colours that the world of  leaves and petals provides. You can glean so much in such a short time. Nature is ever providing something wonderful to look upon. Look not only to what’s growing around trees or those flowers growing along the way,  Look beneath your feet too. What do you see? However you choose to spend your time, be aware that you are a guest in someone else’s home — nature’s — so act accordingly. Eve

“Nature is part of our life. We grew out of the seed, the earth, and we are part of all that. But we are rapidly losing the sense that we are animals like the others. Can you have a feeling for that tree, look at it, see the beauty of it, listen to the sound it makes; be sensitive to the little plant, to the little weed, to that creeper that is growing up the wall, to the light on the leaves and the many shadows? One must be aware of all this and have the sense of communion with nature around you. You may live in a town but you do have trees here and there. A flower in the next garden may be ill-kept, crowded with weeds, but look at it, feel that you are part of all that, part of all living things. If you hurt nature you are hurting yourself.”

One formless God – Oceans Of Bliss

bestboatsatlorient_fhdr99

Baba said many times, I am you and you are Me.. You are the waves, and I am the ocean. Know this and be free. Be divine… Here is an offering of quotations from many faiths and religions , enjoy.

….

“What is God after all? An eternal child playing an eternal game in an eternal garden.” – Sri Aurobindo

“The wave is the same as the ocean, though it is not the whole ocean. So each wave of creation is a part of the eternal Ocean of Spirit. The Ocean can exist without the waves, but the waves cannot exist without the Ocean.” ~ Sri.  Yogananda

“God is whole and constant. In himself he is motionless, yet he is
self-moving… He is hidden yet obvious everywhere. His being is known
through thought alone, yet we see his form before our eyes. He is
bodiless yet embodied in everything. There is nothing which he is
not… He is the unity of all things… He is the Whole which contains
everything. He is One, not two. He is all, not many. The All is not
many separate things, but the Oneness that subsumes the parts. The All
and the One are identical. You think that things are many when you
view them as separate, but when you see they all hang on the One and
flow from the One you will realise they are united – linked together
and connected by a chain of Being from the highest to the lowest, all
subject to the will of God”  ~ the Hermetica

“The journey to God begins with the awakening to the concept that the
phenomenal world is a veil which conceals the Divine. We begin the
Quest by removing the veil, only to become aware that the veil and the
Divine are one and the same thing. The veil is the theophany itself:
the manifestation of the Divine through Its Names and Qualities. When
we see the veil, we are seeing nothing but the Divine.”  ~ Laleh Bakhtiar (Sufi Mystic)

“The Ancient of Ancients, the Unknown of the Unknown, has a form, yet
also has not any form. It has a form through which is the universe is
maintained. It also has not any form, as It cannot be comprehended.” ~  the Zohar, (key Kabbalistic text)

“Exalted in songs has been Brahman. In him are God and the world and
the soul, and he is the imperishable supporter of all. When the seers
of Brahman see him in all creation, they find peace in Brahman and are
free from all sorrow.” – the Upanishads

“Hear, O Israel:

The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God

With all thine heart,

And with all thy soul,

And with all thy might.”  ~ the Shema (Jewish Sacred Prayer)

“Except God no substance can be granted or conceived. .. Everything, I
say, is in God, and all things which are made, are made by the laws of
the infinite nature of God, and necessarily follows from the necessity
of his essence.”  ~ Spinoza

“We are in all things,

And all things are within us,

We are all relatives.”  ~- Lakota Sioux Saying

….

“Therefore, we may consequently state that: this world is indeed a
living being endowed with a soul and intelligence … a single visible
living entity containing all other living entities, which by their
nature are all related.” ~  Plato

“There is a Spirit which is mind and life, light and truth and vast
spaces. He contains all works and desires and all perfumes and all
tastes. He enfolds the whole universe, and in silence is loving to
all. This is the Spirit that is in my heart, smaller than a grain of
rice, or a grain of barley, or a grain of mustard-seed, or a grin of
canary-seed, or the kernel of a grain of canary-seed. This is the
Spirit that is in my heart, greater than the earth, greater than the
sky, greater than the heaven itself, greater than all these worlds.
This is the Spirit that is in my heart, this is Brahman.”  ~ Kena Upanishad

“He who sees that the Lord of all is ever the same in all that is,
immortal in the field of immortality – he sees the truth. And when a
man sees that the God in himself is the same God in all that is, he
hurts not himself by hurting others: then he goes indeed to the
highest Path.” ~ Bhagavad Gita

WHEN THIS BODY DISAPPEARS, YOU SHOULD NOT FEEL SAD

People misunderstand this eternal truth, ascribing several names and forms to it.

When the formless God assumes a form, it is natural for human beings to meditate and worship that form. People derive great satisfaction and experience bliss by doing so. It is allright as long as that form remains. Once that divine form ceases to exist, what will you do? The happiness and bliss derived from the worship of a particular form of God are born out of your illusion only. The physical vestures last for a particular period and then cease to exist. Divinity takes different forms later.

For example, you are now attached to this physical body. You worship this body and derive great satisfaction and bliss thereby. But, after sometime, this body may disappear like the earlier Avatars.

Then you should not feel sad.

When the divine Atma embodied in this physical body reaches its eternal Abode, it is a matter of joy, not sorrow.

Over  many periods of time, God has incarnated as several Avatars. Be attached not to the physical form of a particular Avatar but to Divinity as the formless, attributeless, Parabrahma, which manifested as different Avatars in different ages.
